Terms of Service
Placeholder — not real legal terms yet. This is a tongue-in-cheek default while the real, lawyer-vetted terms are being prepared. Nothing here is legally binding. Questions in the meantime:hello@57monkeys.com.
These terms govern use of 57monkeys.com and, as the Clan’s org-wide default, of 57 Monkeys’ services and software — all operated by 57 Monkeys LLC, a California limited liability company (hereinafter “the Clan”). A specific product may publish its own terms; where it does, those terms take over for that product.
Article I — Acceptable use
Use the website — and anything else the Clan ships — like a reasonable primate: reading pages, clicking links, and occasionally admiring the color scheme. Do not misuse them, attempt to break them, or teach them to fling anything.
Article II — Intellectual property
The words, marks, monkeys, and software belong to the Clan unless otherwise noted (open-source releases carry their own licenses). The infinite monkey theorem remains in the public domain, where it belongs.
Article III — No warranties
The website, services, and software are provided “as is,” with exactly the level of warranty expected from things maintained by monkeys: none. The Clan aims for excellence but disclaims liability for typos, dead links, and existential dread caused by Article IV.
Article IV — Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by California law, the Clan is not liable for damages arising from use of its website, services, or software, including but not limited to lost profits, lost time, or lost bananas.
Article V — Changes
Real, lawyer-reviewed terms will replace this draft before they matter. Until then, the placeholder notice stays up and nothing here binds anyone. Product-specific terms, where published, live with the product.
